ANIMATION
Thank you for visiting my professional Animation portfolio. This page serves as a showcase of my expertise in crafting meticulously designed 2D and 3D animations. Each piece presented here reflects my dedication to delivering high-quality and captivating animations. I hope you find this portfolio a source of inspiration and a testament to my commitment to the art of animation.
My Process
Research
Gathering ideas and information about my subject.
This process ranges from gathering information from Online Searches, or Book resources, and creating mood boards, mindmaps, or design documents to help create a reference guide for the animation that will be made.
Sketching/
Blocking / Model
Quick drawing of ideas, normally hand-drawn which is then used to help block out basic shapes inside Maya to get a simple structure of the model. This is a key moment to experiment with poses, and get a feel for how the animation will flow using the blocked out shapes.
I will improve the model and then do a UV unwrap and create a simple texture that will be improved later with more details.
Modelling and Animating
Each Model requires different animation techiques. Bipedal Models I will use the Human IK system in Maya, and for most of my models I will create a rig from scratch as they require there own skeleton to work., and finally some require the use of particle effects system. Blocking out and setting key poses is my idle way to set up my animations from there I tweek and tweek untill I have the desired end result.
Redndering and Testing
Once an animation is completed it still needs to be rendered and it may need to composited into a scene depending on the project. Most of my animations are for Game assest which at this stage will be moved into a game engine and tested to see if any other animations need to be made or any other edits need to be done.
2023 - IntoWork - IntoJobs Workforce Australia Service Provider
IntoJobs wanted to refresh their video to be displayed on Workforce Australia.
I was given a text script of what the audio was going to say and from that I developed a storyboard and pitched it to the team with their approval I then began gathering source assets and creating assets to use for the animation.
The animation style was to match the minimalistic animations that Workforce Australia creates.
2024 - School of Motion - After Effects: Expressions Course
In 2024, I enrolled into School of Motion's After Effects Expressions Course.
I have self-taught myself After Effects and pretty much the whole Adobe Suite. I am pretty confident working within it as I work in it daily however this does mean I may have missed some critical shortcuts over the years. This is pretty much the reason why I wanted to do this course, to get an idea of how other people work in the program and to improve my workflow and techniques.

Overall, I enjoyed the course, my favourite lesson would have been working on the bar charts because I was able to experiment with using data to drive my animations. This is something I have been wanting to learn more of and find ways to use more often.
2023 - IntoWork - IntoJobs Employment Services for Businesses
IntoJobs wanted to refresh their Employment Services for Businesses video. Using the previous animation as a reference, and working with the Copywriter, we created a new storyboard. I then worked on sourcing assets or creating them within Illustrator, and then animating them in After Effects.
2023 - IntoWork - Work & Training: Brand Awareness Campaign
I was tasked with coming up with a brand awareness campaign for Work & Training that will be put on the Jumbotron at the North Hobart Football Club. Collaboratively working with our copywriter, we created a storyboard that I then set about finding the right footage to use for a rotoscopic animation. We had a very quick deadline for this campaign and we completed it in time.

2018 to 2023 - FZM & Elixr Solutions - EcoMods
In the past, I collaborated with a skilled Programmer to release multiple Mods under the names FZM, Fyre, and Zeel Mods. Our collaborative efforts involved conceiving original ideas and introducing new objects to the game, which we then skillfully brought to life.

However, a significant development occurred in 2021 when FZM merged with Elixr Solutions. This merger resulted in a considerable expansion of our team's size, enabling us to produce an even greater number of innovative mods.

Within this collective, I hold the position of Lead Artist, assuming responsibility for the creation of 3D Models by crafting meticulous models, textures, and animations. Additionally, I contribute to promotional activities by editing videos used to showcase our Mods. My role extends beyond 3D elements, as I also actively design 2D Icons and various other assets essential for our projects.
2016 - SAE Creative Industries - Phone Booth
As part of my Bachelor's Degree program at SAE Creative Industries, I undertook a significant project involving the creation of a 3D Animation titled "Phone Booth." Collaborating with a small team, which comprised two animators, one sound producer, and myself, we embarked on this endeavor.

Within this project, I assumed responsibility for the creation of various assets, including the car, teddy bear, and phone booth, which required intricate rigging. Additionally, I was tasked with designing the logo for the diner, an essential element within the animation.
During the production phase, our team divided the animation shots between the animators, and I primarily focused on sequences involving the car, while also providing assistance in perfecting the walk cycle of the main character.

Throughout the editing process, I actively participated in voice acting endeavors and contributed to finalizing the audio, ensuring a seamless and immersive experience for the audience.
2016 - MBO Internship - JCurve
During my internship with MBO, I was part of a selected major project team engaged in a 6-week collaboration with MBO as a third-party entity. The objective of our partnership was to develop a 2D animation for their client.
In this particular project, my primary responsibility revolved around the creation of background assets. While I contributed minor elements to the animation process, my main focus was on producing high-quality backgrounds.
To achieve this, I leveraged the tools and capabilities of Photoshop CS5 and After Effects CC 2015 to deliver the desired results.

2016 - SAE Creative Industries - The Final Countdown
This project was an integral component of my Studio 3 experience at SAE Creative Industries, where collaboration within a group setting was paramount.

In this endeavor, my primary focus involved creating the female fly, starting from the original concept design and overseeing the process through to the final rendering. Additionally, I skillfully employed nDynamics/Particle effects to create the visual representation of vomit within the animation.

To ensure a seamless outcome, I expertly composited both flies in After Effects before handing it over to the editor, who subsequently incorporated the film element.

Throughout the production, I proficiently utilized Maya 2016, Photoshop CS5, and After Effects CC 2015 to deliver the desired result.
2015 - SAE Creative Industries - Pirate Project
This project was undertaken during my Studio 2 at SAE Creative Industries as a group assignment. Within the team, I took responsibility for designing and developing the female pirate character, specifically focusing on the creation process from original concept design to final rendering. Additionally, I was tasked with crafting the opening scene.

It is worth mentioning that my pirate logo design received the highest approval during the selection process and was chosen to be featured on the flag. To bring this design to life, I employed nCloth in Maya 2015 to create a captivating flag animation. Furthermore, Photoshop CS5 was utilized for additional design elements and enhancements.
